Central Coast Visitor Information

As soon as you arrive in the Central Coast region, you will be impressed by both the beauty of the landscape and the variety of things to do. Combine the action of a vibrant coastal setting and the tranquillity of natural lake and bushland surrounds, and you have the Central Coast - where you can indulge in the best of both worlds.

Just over an hour north of Sydney, lies a world of golden beaches, sparkling blue water, surf, forest, lakes, fresh air and a relaxing escape.

The Central Coast of New South Wales is home to five national parks and 19 beaches. Behind the beaches is an abundance of tranquil coastal lakes and waterways, fertile valleys, state forests and rolling green hills of the hinterland.

The Central Coast has a very special Australian natural resource with over 210,000 ha of natural vegetation set aside for conservation as National Parks and other reserves. As the seasons change so do the parks.

Different plants and trees are flowering while different animals and birds are in the area. The parks are a great place for bushwalking and picnicing all year round, and whale watching (at the right time of year).

The Central Coast waterways provide a diverse range of tourist and holiday activities. From patrolled surf beaches to lagoons, lakes and picturesque waterfalls. Fishing, prawning, swimming, surfing, boating, cruises, sailing, water ski-ing are just some of the water sports and activities available. Our waterways include: Hawkesbury River, Brisbane Water, Broken Bay and Tuggerah Lakes system.

Central Coast is jam packed with great activities and events to make your visit enjoyable including horse riding, hot air ballooning, skydiving, go-karting, ghost hunting, bushwalking, golfing and motor sports - just to name a few.

The Central Coast is fast becoming a vibrant tourism destination, renowned for its beauty, natural landscapes, adventure tourism and easy way of life. Stay for the day or for the week, the Central Coast's many attractions and hospitality will keep you coming back.
